Connecting people -- Linking victims, offenders and communities in restorative justice
From the conference invitation: The title of the conference – Connecting people – describes the potential of restorative justice to build bridges and repair conflicts between people. Victims and offenders are not the only ones affected by crime. Frequently members of the community are greatly disturbed by violence, abuse and other crimes, but they rarely get to voice those concerns. Linking all those affected by crime and letting them express concerns, needs and wishes is what the 7th Conference of the European Forum for Restorative Justice is about.
Restorative Justice and Sexually Harmful Behaviour
From the event announcement: Both AIM and the Restorative Justice Council are pleased to announce a single day conference to examine from a European perspective the potential for the application of restorative approaches to cases of sexually harmful behaviour (SHB). The day will consist of a short plenary to outline the issues around restorative practice in this area of sensitive and complex casework, a variety of workshops outlining how this has been taken forward in practice in England (AIM Project), Northern Ireland (Youth Conferencing Service), Denmark (The Janus Project) and Belgium (Bemiddelingsburo).
Canadian School of Peacebuilding 2012
From the Canadian School of Peacebuilding's website: The Canadian School of Peacebuilding (CSOP), an institute of Canadian Mennonite University, offers a selection of 5-day courses each June. Courses can be taken for professional or personal development or for academic credit. The CSOP is a learning community of diverse peacebuilders who come together to learn, network and engage in peacebuilding. This requires respect, curiosity and a broad range of connecting points for both students and faculty.
Restorative Justice Summer Institute -Transforming Education through Peace and Reconciliation
From the event announcement: A five-day, 3 credit UBC course offered through the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy and the Mir Centre for Peace, Selkirk College (Castlegar, BC). This summer program will deepen your understanding of restorative justice and how its theory and practice relates to education and socialization of our children. This course will take restorative justice (most recently called transformative justice) far beyond the realm of victim and offender, to provide a framework for not only responding to conflict but also to building cultures of peace in our education system. Learners will be enriched by local and global perspectives on issues of peace, reconciliation and conflict transformation that will inspire an enhanced ability to teach about peace and justice, and to implement programs and curriculum based on the tenets of transformative justice.

Certificate in Restorative Justice (delivered online)
From Simon Fraser University's website: An idea with deep roots in Aboriginal and many faith-based communities, restorative justice is enjoying a resurgence. While holding offenders responsible for repairing the damage they have done, it takes a community-minded approach to managing criminal and other conflict. The Certificate in Restorative Justice introduces you to the philosophy behind this powerful concept. Moving beyond theory, it also examines restorative practices such as mediation, conferencing, and circles, and how to use these methods in conflict situations and community development.
